The 10k Hero Challenge is designed to get you out of your comfort zone and train for a 10-kilometer (6.2 mile) race as part of an online community.
Yes, in just 10 weeks’ time, you will be running 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) regardless of whether you’re starting from scratch or you’ve recently completed a Couch to 5k program.
The Challenge culminates with a Virtual 10k Run that we’ll run together (wherever you are in the world) and collectively smash that goal.
That means, all of us setting off together at the same time, on the same day, to run 10k and in the process, redefine your potential.
Ben – 10k Hero Challenger
“This is the second course I’ve finished with Mike at Smashing Fifty.
Another winner and another personal success!
I have just subscribed to the 10k Hero again to try better my performance this time round! I would thoroughly recommend Mike to anyone looking to better themselves!!
He communicates regularly and personally which is what kept me on track as I knew he’d be checking if I’d done my training for the day!!! Lol!! But it’s what I needed!!!
Thoroughly recommend this course especially if you are short on time.”
James – 10k Hero Challenger
You see, you’re not going to be doing this alone.
You’ll do it as part of a community.
• Make new friends
• Enjoy the banter
• Share your struggles & your wins
• Friendly competition
If you’re up for that, then this Challenge is for you.

Hugh – 10k Hero Challenger
The 10k Hero Challenge is open to men aged 40 to 55 (give or take a year or two) who are beginners to running or want to make a comeback.
It’s open to those men who are tired of being tired and want to take responsibility for their lives and redefine themselves as healthy individuals who fear no limits.
I’m not going to lie.
Running is hard, and for you to run 10k will push you to the limit, especially if you’re starting from zero.
Running is a constant battle between the body and the mind.
There’s nowhere to hide.
It’s you versus the road ahead, using every muscle to push yourself forwards.
But when you defeat the road, amazing things can happen.
Not just physically but also in your head, and when you apply that strength and mindset to other parts of your life, it can be truly transformative.
Because within that struggle of putting one foot in front of the other, lies a sense of achievement, freedom, belief, and dare I say it, even happiness.
Running 10k is the perfect distance for beginners as it’s a great opportunity to really push yourself, yet isn’t as grueling as a half-marathon.
You’re going to learn about yourself and what you can handle. How you deal with negative thoughts, failure, and being uncomfortable.
Yes, it’s a challenging goal, and you’ll be pushed out of your comfort zone, but it’s a challenge that I want to help you smash.
If you’re a father and middle-aged, then you’re are at an important crossroads in life as the prospect of getting older becomes more and more of a reality.
This crossroads will define how you live the rest of your life.
Whether you wake up each morning feeling strong and inspired for a new challenge, or not.
Because life is not about sitting on the sidelines… it’s about taking part.
Or at least, you think you’re not.
But you know that you’re not getting any younger, and life isn’t getting any easier with each year that ticks by.
Being a dad, having a family, a job, dealing with ageing parents and the five thousand other things that you have to do has meant that you’ve forgotten to look after your number one asset.
You.
You want to feel better about yourself, be more focussed and inspired yet you’re annoyed about how you’ve let yourself go these last few years.
Maybe you really don’t like how you look and feel, and you hate that voice in your head. The voice that says there’s nothing you can do about it.
The voice that turns everything into an excuse.
With each kid that arrived, you added a few extra pounds.
A poor diet, too much beer, a lack of sleep, a sedentary job, too busy and too exhausted to exercise.
It quickly adds up.
Every twinge in your back or a millisecond of self-doubt a reason not to do anything about it.
Your body and mind, taken hostage by the routine of day-to-day life.
You think you’re too far gone and it’s impossible to change.
It’s Mission Impossible.
But ‘Mission Impossible’ is what you do best.
Let’s face it. There aren’t really any secrets to getting fit.
Sweat a few times a week, eat and sleep well and drink lots of water.
Done.
But actually doing it is the hard part.
That’s where the beauty of the Challenge and the community comes in.
Within the community, we’ll pool our resources, and use each other as the inspiration to make this happen.
We’re going to use the concept that Progress = Belief to move us from week one to week ten, getting stronger and stronger with each week.
Along the way, we’ll explore and discuss the many different tools from the world of Personal Development such as habits, making time, vision, discipline as well as tactics and ideas for how we can train better.
Smashing this Challenge is going to take planning, knowledge, motivation, spirit, and a clear vision for change.
It will take courage on the days that you fail as well as the right tools and mindset to get you to the end.
Here’s what you get when you join the Challenge:

9. A Positive, Focussed Environment
No Bullshit, just a friendly and focussed community helping each other to be the best we can be.
Being strong, fit, and healthy, is the best asset you can have as you get older.
But there are numerous obstacles getting in your way.
• You don’t know what your goals are
We’ll work on this in week one
• You don’t believe you can do it
Belief is at the core of the training
• You don’t have the motivation
The community and the momentum of the Challenge will give you plenty of motivation, but motivation isn’t really what you need. You’ll learn why!
• You don’t have the time or the energy
I’ll show you how to fix this!
• You’re not sure what to do
The Challenge will show you exactly what to do every day for the next 70 days!
You’re busy and the stress of juggling work with the family has meant that your focus has been elsewhere.
Yet, as a man in your forties (or early fifties), looking after your health is paramount if want to enjoy the precious time that you have with your kids now, and in the future.
We all want to be there when the grandkids make an appearance and to be strong and healthy too.
Being healthy and confident in your own ability is also fundamental to improving your life in so many different ways.
With more energy you can play with your kids more, you’ll be sharper at work, you’ll sleep better, feel less tired, have more focus, lose weight, feel better. The list goes on.
Smashing a 10k can change your mindset like nothing else, and with that newfound belief, who knows what else could you go on to achieve…
If you don’t love the challenge and want a refund, just email me to get your money back at anytime during the 10 weeks.
